Variety of QUARTZ with Crocidolite fibers (blue) altered in yellow by the oxidation of the Iron of the Crocidolite. The name Hawk’s Eye is given to the variety of QUARTZ with unaltered Crocidolite fibers, being this variety less frequent.
COLOR: yellow, brown
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES: very hard (6.5/7 Mohs), light (2.65 g/ cm3), opaque, no exfoliation, vitreous/silky luster.
CURIOSITIES: Related to the contribution of protection against bad vibrations and temperance in adverse situations.
